This study aims to explore the diagnostic and therapeutic methods for feline urinary retention. As a common manifestation of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease(FLUTD),feline urinary retention can lead to systemic infection or even death in severe cases. In this case, feline urinary retention was initially suspected through inspection, inquiry, and palpation;further confirmed by imaging examinations including DR and abdominal color Doppler ultrasound;and finally diagnosed based on the results of blood routine, biochemical indicators, and coagulation function tests. After 3 days of conservative treatment, the cat's symptoms showed no significant improvement,so perineal urethrostomy was performed. The cat achieved good postoperative recovery and a favorable prognosis. This case indicates that for urinary retention cases unresponsive to conservative treatment, perineal urethrostomy can effectively improve the quality of life of affected cats, providing valuable reference for clinical practice.

Chicken is one of the main sources of meat protein with gradually increased proportion in the national meat consumption, therefore consumers are paying more attention to the meat quality. Influenced by the COVID pandemic and bird flu,the market of frozen chicken products is increasing. However, the quality of frozen chicken products generally declines significantly over time. Therefore, breeding researchers not only pay attention to improving broiler production performance, but also study meat quality improvement strategies in large ?? scale production. According to previous studies, the evaluation and detection methods of chicken meat quality varied between reports, yielding inconsistent results. In order to provide references and basic data for building the chicken meat quality evaluation system and the improvement of chicken quality, the evaluation methods (e.g.,physical indicators, chemical composition and sensory evaluation),detection index(e.g.,pH value, meat color, tenderness, water holding capacity, composition of amino acids and fatty acids),and the influencing factors(e.g.,breed,age,feed composition, management, pre??slaughter stress)of chicken meat quality were summarized in this paper.

From 0 to 15 weeks,120 cocks and 120 hens were randomly selected to weigh and record their body weight every weekend. Thereafter,5 cocks and 5 hens were randomly selected, and the growth and development of main tissues and organs, such as heart, liver, spleen, glandular stomach, muscular stomach, bursa of Fabricius, pancreas and intestine were measured. Results showed that there was significant difference(P<0.05)in body weight of cocks and hens between 2 weeks of age. Meanwhile, there was significant difference(P<0.01)in body weight between cocks and hens in other weeks. The growth inflection points of cocks and hens of Yao chickens were 13.71 weeks and 12.59 weeks, respectively, and their body weight t were 2238.17 g and 1575.96 g,respectively. The change trend of organ index of cocks and hens are consistent. The relative indexes of heart, muscle stomach, glandular stomach, and liver of cocks and hens were higherin the first week, and then decreased gradually. This study showed that Yao chickens give priority to the development of heart, liver, stomach and other important organs, which can contribute to nutrient absorption and increasing body weight in the early growth stage. This study also suggested that the full price and balance of nutritional ratio before 13 weeks should be strengthened in order to improve growth efficiency of Yao chickens.

This study aimed to using 4 methods to determine the hydraulic power of pork, and combined with the actual operation to improve and evaluate the hydraulic power of pork, and then provide a theoretical basis for the identification of pork hydraulic power and meat quality. Using the 4 methods mentioned in the Ministry of Agriculture standard NY/T 1333-2007 to determine the hydraulic power, the pressure method, centrifugation method, drip loss, and cooking loss were used for parallel determination of more than 100 fresh pork samples. Moisture content(direct drying)was used as the fifth index to evaluate the water ??holding power. The water ??holding power measured by different methods of each sample was calculated by formula, and the differences of different methods were compared and analyzed. Compared with other methods, the drip loss method had the smallest error, and the average loss rate was 1.984%;the average value of the pressure method was 68.377%,and the calculation formula of the centrifugal method and the pressure method were the same, and the average value was 65.098%. However, the coefficient of variation of the centrifugation method is the largest among several methods, reaching 10.633%,the average value of the cooking method was 66.888%,and the average value of the moisture content was 68.022%,which is similar to the average value of the pressure method. The results show that drip loss was the least affected by human factors, but it was suitable for the determination of meat quality difference;the moisture content in meat can replace pressure method and centrifugation method in production, but it takes a long time;in the market Preliminary identification of meat quality could be carried out by using the cooking method, which was quicker and convenient for consumers to taste and feel the meat quality more intuitively.

This study delineates the evolving dynamics between cattle inventory and beef production in China, while highlighting the upward trajectory of domestic beef consumption and the increasing reliance on imports. From the perspective of germplasm resource introduction,it examines the influence of live cattle and frozen semen imports on the broader development of the beef industry. Integrating insights from the market circulation system, the paper further dissects the volatility patterns within the fresh beef consumption market. Focusing specifically on Guangdong Province, the paper evaluates the current state of the beef cattle sector through three analytical lenses:the imbalance in supply and demand, the degree of large⁃scale farming, and the distinctive characteristics of regional dairy cattle farming models. It identifies critical challenges facing the provincial cattle breeding industry, including a shortage of high⁃quality genetic stock, weak foundational infrastructure in breeding systems, misalignment between breeding objectives and the diversified demands of the market, and insufficient protection and utilization of indigenous cattle germplasm resources. Building upon the analysis of these structural bottlenecks, the paper proposes a systematic development pathway. This includes the establishment of a province⁃wide elite breeding system, targeted enhancement of genetic improvement technologies, the development of intelligent innovation platforms for germplasm advancement, and the identification of genetic markers associated with desirable traits. Together, these measures aim to provide a scientific foundation for the high⁃quality and sustainable development of Guangdong’s beef cattle breeding industry.
